Ch.61: This one of the better comedy-romance-villainess stories. I think this barely qualifies as a masterpiece in my opinion. The story is about a princess that gets sold off to the emperor of the neighbourung empire. But, even though they have never seen each other before, they fall in love. At the beginning I thought this is purely a comedy webtoon, but after binging through the chapters layer after layer gets torn off and a bigger, more mysterious story revealed itself. Sidenotes: Lots of fantasy elements/beings that play big roles. The emperor kills people regurarly. Too fast paced in my opinion.
The art is great, there are loads of filled backgrounds and details. But the elegant drawn webtoon pictures often are limited by the artstyle and they don’t become overly gorgeous.
The characters are a bit like good actors in a theatre. Everybody acts a bit funny for the comedys sake, but that makes them a bit less realistic. Most of the side characters seem like the extras in movies, while the main characters are all weirdos in some way. This is a bit of a downside in my opinion, but it fits very well with the story and the comedic atmosphere.
2 sum it up, this is a great villainess webtoon with a high quality art, a great story with lots of comedy/fantasy elements and very good characters. Definitively give this a try. I even think this even barely counts as a masterpiece.
